The services that Compassionate Paws provides are custom created to each client — taking into account both the individual's needs and specific abilities along with the needs and of the family unit. We strive to meet the child's social, emotional and educational goals through the use of well trained Compassionate Paws dogs.

Through the application process, telephone consultations, regular e-mails and home visits with Executive Director Harriet Berg and Director of Training Vicki Pingel Compassionate Paws works with the family to assess your specific needs. During this assessment together with the family we will determine the most appropriate package. Currently, Compassionate Paws, Inc. offers a Basic, Silver, and Platinum Package. Each package offers different benefits and services for the applicant and the applicant's family. If we determine that a Certified Service Dog through Compassionate Paws is not appropriate for your family, we will help you identify additional resources available through Compassionate Paws that might be more appropriate for your specific situation.

At the time of approval through the Board of Directors, Compassionate Paws will assist the family with their fundraising efforts. The initial fundraiser has proven to be highly effective and is run at the cost of Compassionate Paws, Inc. with the assistance of the applicant. At the same time we begin the selection process of an appropriate Compassionate Paws dog to train for your child. We will select your Compassionate Paws dog, and then work with your child's teachers, therapists and family unit as a whole to create this dog's ultimate job description based on your child's needs.

We will help you develop an understanding of how Compassionate Paws dogs are trained to help your child meet their social, emotional and educational goals, to best prepare you to partner with us to complete your dog's training when he or she comes to live with you at approximately 9 months of age (the timetable for placements are individual, but this is the average age of placement for Compassionate Paws dogs.) You will then continue to work with Compassionate Paws, Inc. to learn the positive training methods that have been used to complete your dog's training.

If you are interested in applying for a Service Dog through Compassionate Paws, Inc. please Contact Us and we will be more than happy to send you an application.
